There’s something really special happening just outside Frome, and now the rest of the country has taken notice.

Flourish at Farleigh Road, the beautifully curated foodhall and kitchen in Norton St Philip, has been named Best Food Hall & Kitchen in the UK at the prestigious Farm Shop & Deli Retailer Awards 2026.
Held in Birmingham this April, the awards celebrate the very best independent food and drink retailers across the country, recognising excellence in everything from product quality and innovation to customer experience and community impact. Flourish didn’t just make the shortlist, they took home the top national title, alongside a Highly Commended nod in the Newcomer of the Year category.
A place built on quality, community and care
If you’ve visited Flourish, this will come as no surprise.

From the moment you walk in, it feels thoughtfully put together. Shelves are lined with carefully sourced British produce, the deli counter is full of freshly made food, and there’s a real sense that everything has been chosen with purpose.
The judges clearly saw that too, highlighting Flourish’s commitment to:
championing British suppliers
sustainable sourcing
and delivering an exceptional customer experience
Finalists were assessed through a detailed judging process, including anonymous visits to both the foodhall and café, making this win all the more meaningful.
From new opening to national recognition
Flourish at Farleigh Road only opened its doors in November 2024, making this achievement even more impressive.
It’s the sister site to Flourish at Glenavon Farm in Saltford, but Farleigh Road has quickly established its own identity. A big part of that is the on-site production kitchen, launched in March 2025, which now supplies both locations with freshly made favourites like scotch eggs, sausage rolls, cakes and bakes, all using local ingredients.
It’s not just a place to shop, but somewhere to pause, eat and enjoy. Whether you’re popping in for a coffee, picking up something special for dinner, or meeting friends for lunch, it manages to feel both elevated and genuinely welcoming.
A brilliant team behind it
At the heart of it all is the team.

Samantha Riddington, General Manager at Farleigh Road, said:
“This award is a testament to our brilliant team who worked so hard through challenging times to get us to where we are now. We’re thrilled to receive this award, especially in our first full year of trading as Flourish, and this achievement is a great boost for the team who go above and beyond every day.”
That sense of pride and care is exactly what makes places like Flourish stand out.
A destination worth the short trip
For Frome locals, it’s one of those places that’s well worth having on your regular rotation.
A quick drive out of town, and you’ve got access to some of the best food retail in the country, quite literally.

Whether you go for the foodhall, the kitchen, or just a really good coffee and a wander, Flourish at Farleigh Road is a brilliant example of how local businesses can do things exceptionally well, and still feel grounded in their community.
