The Crown Inn at Keyford
Quenching thirsts and filling bellies since 1650! The Crown Inn, located in Keyford, Frome dates from between 1650 and 1700. Cart drivers heading toward the Longleat estate would have made the Crown a stopping point to water their horses and probably availed themselves of liquid refreshment too! Since taking over in May 2021, The Crown has just been refurbished by new owner and custodian, Dan. We recently sent our intrepid reporter to The Crown at Keyford to find out what the

Stina Falle, Artist & Wise Woman
Stina Falle, artist and facilitator, recently dared to expose herself as “a fully fledged person full of labels” (see Brief History below) with her exhibition “Sands of Time” at the Black Swan Round Tower in Frome, selling her creative estate to raise money for the mental health charity, MIND. In addition to the art exhibition, Stina also invited people to come in and share their stories and was struck by the fact that so many people who visited had remarkable and varied stor

Kicking off a Great New Season!
Some of you may know that I do a bit of singing and songwriting when I can, and ever since releasing my debut album back in 2016, I've been waiting for the signs to know how to move forward next; and then recently, a very bizarre thing happened when I was watching the World Cup 2018 final. "Songs of Hurt & Healing" - Larkham & Hall (Folk Noir)
Gloriously soulful songwriting powerhouse 'Larkham and Hall' from Bristol, live streamed a stunning forty minute set from Frome's Visual Radio Arts….to the world. Sarah Larkam sings with sensuality and power, and yes, she knows she sounds a lot like Stevie Nicks! Elliot Hall is more of a rasper with a rock and roll edge to the voice and the songwriting credentials of a long time admirer of Dylan and Cohen. He is as large and shambling as she is tiny. As he gets manfully to gr

The Business Breakfast Presents "Working Together to Tackle Business Waste"
Another stimulating Business Breakfast was held this month at The Grain Bar cafe, with a tasty spread laid on by local celebrity Slummy Mummy and her team. The topic this month was all about how can businesses work together to tackle the terrible waste issues we’re facing, with the sea full of plastic and China closing down on accepting recyclable materials.
